We are thrilled to announce the kickoff of the 39th season of the West Island Youth Symphony Orchestra (WIYSO) under the baton of our new Artistic Director, Georges-Étienne d'Entremont. With a wealth of experience conducting youth orchestras across Montreal, Maestro d'Entremont brings a fresh perspective and passion for nurturing young musical talent.

This season, WIYSO is delighted to offer enrolment free of charge to all musicians, new or returning, making it more accessible than ever to be part of our vibrant orchestra.
Musical Camp
Get ready for an exciting start to the season with our musical camp, taking place the weekend of November 9-10, 2024. It's the perfect opportunity for musicians of the orchestra to dig in to the repertoire with intensive rehearsals, get to know each other better through games and activities, and generally prepare for the season ahead.
Mark Your Calendars for This Season's Concerts!
Sunday, November 24th, 2024: Our inaugural concert under Maestro d'Entremont's direction promises an evening of musical delight.
Saturday, March 1st, 2025: Join us for a special joint concert with Sixtrum, the Association des orchestres de jeunes de la Montérégie, and Tim Brady for a special project with 100 electric guitars at Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal during the Montreal/New Musics International Festival.
Sunday, March 30th, 2025: Join us for our second subscription series concert of the year! This concert will feature the Grieg piano concerto, performed by former WIYSO conductor and virtuoso pianist, Jean-Pascal Hamelin!
Sunday, June 1st, 2025: Our season will conclude with a concert that highlights the growth and achievements of our talented young musicians. This concert will also feature a performance from the West Island Youth String Orchestra!
